The air conditioning filter is an important part of the automobile air conditioning system.

Function

• Filter impurities: It can effectively filter out tiny particles, pollen, bacteria, industrial waste gas and dust in the air, prevent 

them from entering the car and air conditioning system, and protect the normal operation of the air conditioning system.

• Improve air quality: Ordinary air conditioning filters can ensure fresh air; activated carbon series air conditioning filters 

can also absorb odors and harmful gases, such as benzaldehyde, to further improve the air quality in the car, provide a good 

air environment for people in the car, and benefit health.

• Prevent glass fogging: Filter out moisture in the air to make the air entering the car drier, thereby effectively preventing 

the window glass from fogging due to temperature difference and improving driving safety.

Classification

• According to material and performance: Ordinary air conditioning filters are processed and folded from specific environmentally 

friendly filter materials, mostly white single layers, which can inhibit the entry of dust and particles. Activated carbon series air 

conditioning filters are made of filter cloth with two non-woven fabrics and activated carbon particles in the middle, which can 

absorb more tiny substances and harmful substances. In addition, there are high-efficiency air conditioning filters, which add a 

high-efficiency filter layer on the basis of activated carbon filters, and can filter tiny particles such as PM2.5 and PM0.3; high-efficiency 

antibacterial air conditioning filters add an antibacterial layer on the basis of high-efficiency air conditioning filters, and have a high antibacterial rate.

• According to the appearance and shape: the common ones are flat type and folding type. The flat type has a simple structure 

and low cost, but the filtration area is relatively small; the folding type increases the filtration area by folding the filter paper or 

filter cloth, improves the filtration efficiency, and provides a larger filtration area and better filtration effect in a limited space, and is widely used.

Installation location

It is usually installed under the glass compartment in front of the co-pilot compartment of the car. Some models may also be 

installed inside the glove box or other locations, but this is relatively rare.

Replacement cycle

It is generally replaced when the car has traveled 8,000-10,000 kilometers. It can be adjusted appropriately according to the 

external driving environment. For example, in dusty, windy, and polluted areas, or when there is a peculiar smell in the car and 

the air volume of the air conditioner is significantly reduced, it is recommended to replace it in advance.

Maintenance

If it is blocked but the replacement cycle has not yet arrived, it can be cleaned from bottom to top with compressed air. 

Keep the air gun 5cm away from the filter and blow at 500kPa for about 2 minutes. If it cannot be cleaned, it needs to be replaced. 

When cleaning or replacing, turn off the air conditioning system first, and do not use water to clean it.
